Winners! Pet Pride Design Challenge - Creating Products for Zazzle

The first of our design challenges creating products for Zazzle (the first of many I hope!) concluded on the 24th June. Our overall Winner is Amanda with her wonderful Sleep, Eat, Puppy, Repeat wall clock. But the other entrants were so fabulous in their own individual way, I have taken the unusual decision to award them all the prize of having their very own feature on my sites to be shared across my social networks!! Well done all!! I loved reading your stories, seeing your adorable pets and am impressed with your ingenuity! Very well done. Thank you for your participation!

Meet Chance, our "chorkie" rescue puppy. Just yesterday I was actually reflecting on his age, which is probably around 1 year and 10 months: I've decided he's a September baby because when we got him in January of 2023, our vet estimated he was about four months old.

In 2022 after a health scare, we decided it was time I resign from my teaching career of nearly 20 years. It was an emotional time, and our elderly dog Rudy was my companion during some of those toughest days that spring.

Unfortunately, he would pass suddenly that summer (or as suddenly as one can when he has lived such a lengthy, large life!), and when my son returned to school that fall, our home was empty and my heart felt even more lonely.

We weren't really "over" the loss of Rudy (not that we ever get over the loss of such precious family) when a friend shared the photo of Chance, an adorable little guy who needed rescued. Soon my days were filled with puppy potty training, play time, snuggles, and so many laughs.

▢️ I actually created a YouTube channel of our early times together. In those early days especially, puppy life is all-consuming. Every hour of the day, it's TIME for something. Hence, a clock! "Sleep. Eat. Puppy. Repeat." It was his schedule, and therefore, it was mine!πŸ₯°

My entry is for Luna, a cat from Alameda. We know nothing about her previous owners except that they had kicked her out - we have no clue why. After she was hanging around for four days on the spot where her people had put her little cat house, food dishes and other cat stuff we figured they aren't coming back for her and we adopted her.

That was roughly half a year ago. Luna is very gentle and social and is a clean cat too (she knows how to use a litter box etc.).  Who would just dump a wonderful cat like that?

I needed to create a tag for Luna anyhow because last time she escaped I was searching for her for hours and it poured out of buckets and finally I found her (or she found me) because I hear this very faint meow coming from Chris's sail boat.

That was teaching us both a lesson, lol. I will also invest into a cat tracker because that cat wants to go out - especially at night.
